SIMFEROPOL, August 12 The press service of the Energodar administration called rumors about the evacuation or allegedly dangerous situation around the Zaporizhzhya NPP enemy propaganda.
The Director of Communications at the Nuclear Power Plant, Evgeniya Yashina, said on Monday that the radiation level at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant and in the observation zone after the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces is normal, and there is no reason to worry.
“All rumors about evacuation or an allegedly dangerous situation around the nuclear power plant are enemy stuffing with the aim of sowing discontent and even panic,” the message says.
Earlier, Rosatom reported that as a result of two direct strikes by Ukrainian drones on the evening of August 11, one of the cooling towers of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, an object of the cooling system of the plant, was seriously damaged. The fire was extinguished by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and specialists will assess the threat of collapse of the structure when the situation allows. The state corporation called the incident an act of nuclear terrorism. In turn, the press service of the plant reported that the fire did not affect the operation of the NPP in any way. All six units, as before, are not operating and are in a state of «cold shutdown». There are no casualties. No violations of the limits and conditions of safe operation of the NPP were recorded. The radiation background is normal. In turn, the region's governor, Yevgeny Balitsky, said that there is no danger to the region as a result of the fire at the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
