MOSCOW, August 13 Over the past 24 hours, forest fire services have extinguished 32 wildfires across Russia covering an area of 4,768 hectares, Avialesookhrana reported on its Telegram channel.
“According to information from regional forestry dispatch services, over the past 24 hours, August 12, 2024, in 13 regions of Russia, forest fire services and involved persons extinguished 32 forest fires on an area covered by fire of 4,768 hectares,” the report says.
By midnight on Tuesday, there were 172 forest fires in the Russian Federation covering an area of 607,146 hectares, which were being actively extinguished. The largest area of fires was recorded in Yakutia — there were 76 fires on 527,401 hectares.
