The flagship crossover BMW X7 received a new exclusive finish from Alpina, which perfectly complements the sophisticated engineering tuning.
At the end of next year, German company Alpina will be part of the BMW Group, and the closer the merger date gets, the clearer it becomes how Alpina will cohabit with the sports division of BMW M GmbH. Both subsidiaries of the Bavarian company improve the performance of the original BMW models, but the M models are all about sport and showy muscle, while Alpina is about luxury and Gran Turismo-style driving. Luxury drives up the price more than power, so in terms of prestige, Alpina will likely stand above the BMW M GmbH division. A recent example is Alpina XB7 Manufaktur.

The Alpina XB7 crossover, based on the BMW X7, debuted in 2020 and underwent a restyling in 2022, during which it received unique bumpers in the style of M models, but not too brutal, so as not to irritate the management of BMW M GmbH. Since its debut, Alpina has sold 2,880 XB7s worldwide, including 550 in Europe, and a new Manufaktur version of this model has been prepared for the 2025 model year.

The Manufaktur badge hides a more refined finish and subtle personalization of each example. The interior in particular can be completely covered with the branded Lavalina leather, which takes more than 100 hours of manual labor, and the configuration of the space and embossing is chosen by the customer. The kit also includes the author's finish of the pedal assembly, unique Alpina paddle shifters for manual gear shifting, redrawn graphics of the instrument and multimedia screens, branded plates, emblems and nameplates. The external chrome trim can be light or dark — it is called Aluminum Satin Line and Black Line, respectively. The openwork 23-inch Alpina Classic forged wheels have a mirror-like shine and are coated with protective varnish.

The technical stuffing is standard for the Alpina XB7: the 4.4-liter gasoline V8 with the factory index S68 is boosted from the stock 530 hp and 750 Nm on the top BMW X7 M60i xDrive to 621 hp and 800 Nm, the acceleration time to 100 km/h has been reduced from 4.7 to 4.2 s, the maximum speed has been increased from 250 to 290 km/h. The engine has a unique exhaust system from Alpina with a noble sound. The all-wheel steering chassis with air suspension received unique components (including more powerful brakes) and unique settings from Alpina.

While the stock BMW X7 M60i xDrive costs from 136,300 euros in Germany, you need to pay at least 190,500 euros for the Alpina XB7 Manufaktur, while orders for regular Alpina XB7s without the Manufaktur, which cost around 160,000 euros, are no longer accepted. The fully loaded Alpina XB7 Manufaktur will cost around 240,000 euros — this is the most luxurious segment.
