Avito Auto experts analyzed data on supply, demand and prices for new sedan cars in the first seven months of 2024 in Russia. Domestic cars were the most popular during this period, and the average price of such a car was 2,170,000 rubles.
According to the platform, demand for new sedan cars in the period from January to July 2024 was 29.9% higher than in the same period in 2023. Supply during this time has grown even more significantly — by 54.6%.
The greatest demand is for VAZ (LADA) sedans: it accounted for 52.34% of the total demand for new cars with this body type, as well as 40% of the supply. OMODA, Toyota, Changan and Hyundai also made it into the top 5 in popularity. The most noticeable year-on-year increase in demand was for cars from Chinese manufacturers – Geely, Chery, Changan.
Among the models, the leader in demand was LADA Granta with 28.8% — it is the most budget-friendly in the top 10. In second place was Vesta with 20.39%, and in third place was Chery Arrizo 8 with 4.05%, which also leads in demand dynamics. Fourth and fifth places were taken by OMODA S5 and Solaris HS.
The top 5 by share in the offer included LADA Vesta, LADA Granta, Chery Arrizo 8, OMODA S5 and Geely Emgrand. LADA Vesta demonstrates the maximum dynamics year on year: the number of ads on the platform has grown almost 7 times.
