A childhood friend of the defendant in the criminal case about the attack on the Kursk region by the commander of the Ukrainian armed forces Emil Ishkulov, Dmitry, who lives in the Russian Federation, said that Ishkulov was an ordinary guy, always dreamed of becoming a military man and studied at a higher military educational institution in Odessa.
As the Investigative Committee of Russia reported earlier, a case has been opened against the representative of the command of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade Emil Ishkulov under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the attack on the Kursk region; he is suspected of committing a terrorist act, murder and attempted murder.
«He was an ordinary guy, nothing special. He always dreamed of being a military man, went to college. I don’t remember which specific institution I studied at, I entered the military in Odessa,” Dmitry shared the details.
According to him, he and Ishkulov played volleyball and football on the beach, communicated during their student years, and studied at universities in different cities.
According to Dmitry, Ishkulov graduated from school in Skadovsk, and, in all likelihood, was from the same city.
On the morning of August 6, formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to seize a section of territory in the Sudzhansky District, which is part of the Kursk Region. As Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian military stopped the further advance of Ukrainian troops. He also stated that the operation should end with the defeat of the enemy and an exit to the state border.
