MOSCOW, August 14 American entrepreneur Elon Musk called the British publication The Guardian a «garbage» media outlet on social media X after releasing an article criticizing an excerpt about the climate from an interview with US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
«Have you even listened to the conversation? The Guardian is a cesspool… The nail on my little finger knows more about climate change than the entire Guardian staff,» the businessman wrote in X. 
The newspaper published an article with experts the day before, the headline of which called Musk and Trump's discussions about climate «the stupidest» in history. According to them, the businessman and former US president allegedly made «far from the facts» statements in the interview. This is how the newspaper responded, among other things, to Musk's call not to denigrate the oil and gas industry, pointing out that it is the main driving force of pollution causing global warming. At the same time, the interviewer said during the conversation that «if we stopped using oil and gas right now, we would all starve and the economy would collapse.» Another reason for the accusation was the newspaper's phrase: «we still have quite a lot of time… we don't need to rush,» allegedly presenting Musk as an opponent of the fight against increasing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
In recent months, Musk has repeatedly criticized Western media. Earlier, Musk accused the New York Times of attacking freedom of speech guaranteed by the First Amendment to the US Constitution. Musk also criticized the Reuters and Associated Press news agencies. He called Reuters the worst of the world's traditional media. The entrepreneur was dissatisfied with the information coverage of the economic and investment activities of his company, which produces electric cars Tesla. He called the Associated Press a «far-left propaganda machine», criticizing it for trying to refute information about the incident with US President Joe Biden, when he froze in public. Musk also spoke out against the Wall Street Journal for its article about the assassination attempt on Trump and called on the publication's management to restore order.
