TEL AVIV, August 14 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed the participation of an Israeli delegation in the Gaza Strip talks scheduled for August 15 in the Qatari capital Doha, the Israeli government office reported.
«Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved the departure of the Israeli delegation to Doha tomorrow and the mandate for the talks,» the statement said.
As Netanyahu's office adviser Dmitry Gendelman reported on his Telegram channel, the delegation will include Mossad chief David Barnea, General Security Service chief Ronen Bar, as well as a coordinator for the exchange of hostages Nitzan Alon and the prime minister's adviser on international affairs Ofir Falk.
Earlier, Netanyahu's office announced its intention to send a delegation to a meeting on Gaza in Qatar.
Egypt, Qatar and the United States called on Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas to resume discussions on a ceasefire on August 14-15. The leaders of the three countries said they were ready to present a final proposal to reach a deal.
