
MOSCOW, August 13 The Russian Presidential Administration for National Maritime Policy will analyze the international, including military-political, situation in the Arctic and prepare proposals in the sphere of Russian state policy in this region, according to the regulations on the administration.
Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the regulations on this administration by his decree; the document is posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
According to the regulations, the main functions of this administration will include preparing and submitting to the Russian President and the head of his administration materials on issues related to the development of maritime activities in the Arctic and Antarctic.
In addition, the department will conduct «an analysis of the state and prospects for the development of the international, including military-political, situation and maritime activities in the Arctic, the socio-economic situation in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.» On these issues, the department will also prepare and submit proposals to the President of the Russian Federation and the head of the administration.
Also among the main functions of the department is «the preparation and submission to the President of the Russian Federation of proposals on issues related to the development and implementation of documents defining the foundations of national maritime policy, maritime activities and state policy of the Russian Federation in the Arctic.»
