A search is underway in the Kursk region for a missing 74-year-old Russian who was abused by Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, said Kirill Kabanov, a member of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation. In an interview with NEWS.ru, the member of the Human Rights Council noted that this is a human tragedy.
According to Kabanov, a huge number of journalists and his colleagues are already working on the high-profile story. Work is underway with law enforcement agencies, but unfortunately, it does not always happen so quickly, he noted.
The source added that the story with the pensioner is similar to the situation with the missing journalist of «Sudzhanskie Vesti».
Earlier it became known that the 74-year-old pensioner, who was being abused by Ukrainian militants on the outskirts of Sudzha in a video, was missing. He has not been seen for 10 days.
The pensioner is a local resident, Alexander Gusarov, who was looking for Russian military personnel, but got lost and met two Ukrainian Armed Forces militants dressed in the uniform of Nazi soldiers.
