
MOSCOW, August 15 Head coach of the Kazakhstan national football team Stanislav Cherchesov may head Bulgaria's Ludogorets, 24 Hours reports.
According to the source, the specialist is already in Razgrad. If the contract is signed, the Russian will start work after Ludogorets' match against Levski, which will take place on August 17.
Earlier, Georgi Dermendzhiev was dismissed as head coach of Ludogorets after a 2:7 defeat to Karabakh in the return match of the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
In early June, Cherchesov took charge of the Kazakhstan national team. The team's first match under the new coach is scheduled to be played on September 6 against the Norwegians in the Nations League.
Cherchesov led the Russian national team from 2016 to 2021. Under his leadership, the team reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup at home, and took last place in the group with teams from Belgium, Denmark and Finland at Euro 2020. The specialist's last place of work was the Hungarian Ferencvaros. Cherchesov also headed Moscow's Spartak, Dynamo, Sochi's Zhemchuzhina, Grozny's Terek (now Akhmat), Perm's Amkar, Austria's Kufstein, Wacker and Poland's Legia.
