MOSCOW, August 15 The cultural festival «India Day», which has started in Moscow, will strengthen friendly relations between the two countries, Sammy, President of the Indian Business Alliance and the Indian Cultural and National Center «Sita», said in a conversation with Kotwani.
«We (Russia and India — ed.) have very strong friendly ties. So this (the festival — ed.) is another step to make our friendship stronger,» he said on the sidelines of the festival.
The interlocutor also spoke in favor of holding Russian cultural festivals in India, noting the warmth of relations between the peoples of the two countries.
The «India Day» festival opened on Thursday in the southern landscape park of the capital's «Dream Island» complex.
The main theme of the 2024 festival is family. A large international representation at the opening ceremony will remind everyone of the famous Hindu saying Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — «the whole world is family.» The event is dedicated to India's Independence Day and the 78th anniversary of Russian-Indian diplomatic relations.
