ST. PETERSBURG, August 15 The Leningrad Region sent another batch of equipment to units in the North Military District on the birthday of the Leningrad Frontier Foundation, the regional government press service reported, citing Governor Alexander Drozdenko.
«I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to all those who stood at the origins of the Leningrad Frontier Foundation. During this period, the foundation has supplied hundreds of units of equipment, hundreds of drones, thousands of radio stations, electronic warfare systems to the SVO zone to support our guys, but most importantly, the foundation works systematically. We support not only military units in the SVO zone, we also support the Russian Guard and our border troops,» Drozdenko said.
As explained by the regional government, modern UAV models, drone blockers, turret installations, communication systems (repeaters, portable and car radio stations) and base stations were transferred to military departments. The equipment was transferred to the «North» group of troops, the Russian Guard, the 6th Air Force and Air Defense Army, the 44th Army Corps, the Lugansk commandant's office and the Border Service of the FSB of Russia. In addition, materials for weaving camouflage nets were purchased, which will be transferred to volunteers of the Leningrad Region.
According to the head of the region, a decision has also been made to support technical developments for the needs of the SVO with grants. The grants from the Leningradsky Rubezh Foundation will support developments «from scratch», then the prototypes will be tested. If the tests are successful, the prototype will be sent to the SVO zone. If its reliability is confirmed, a second grant will be allocated for a small experimental assembly, then — the launch of industrial production.
On August 15, it will be two years since the founding of the Leningrad Frontier Foundation, which was created on the initiative of Governor Alexander Drozdenko as a mechanism to support Leningrad fighters in the SVO zone. In addition, the foundation is engaged in targeted humanitarian aid to the sponsored Yenakiyevo in the Donetsk People's Republic. On the day of the foundation's second anniversary celebration, the head of the region was presented with a captured Ukrainian UAV A1-SM «Furia», successfully intercepted by Russian servicemen using an electronic warfare system in the area of a special military operation.
