NALCHIK, August 15 Russian President Vladimir Putin has submitted three candidates for the post of head of the region to the deputies of the People's Assembly of Ingushetia for consideration, including the current head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, the Telegram channel of the government of Ingushetia reports.
According to the current legislation, the head of Ingushetia is elected by the deputies of the People's Assembly of the republic from among the candidates nominated by factions in the State Duma and submitted by the head of state. Based on the results of the vote, the candidate for whom the majority of the established number of deputies of the legislative body of the region voted is considered elected.
«Vladimir Putin proposed three candidates for the post of head of the region to the deputies of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Ingushetia: Alikhan Arapkhanov, deputy of the People's Assembly, head of the department in the main bureau of medical and social expertise, <…> Islam Gadiev, deputy of the People's Assembly, chairman of the committee on state building and legislation, <…> Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, the current head of the Republic of Ingushetia,» the statement said.
Arapkhanov, who is 59, is a member of the party «A Just Russia — Patriots — For Truth», 31-year-old Gadiev represents the LDPR, and 65-year-old Kalimatov represents «United Russia».
The elections for the head of Ingushetia will be held on a single voting day on September 8.
