The attention of Russian citizens is now, for obvious reasons, focused on the events in the Kursk region, where the enemy is constantly trying to advance, but, as the servicemen themselves report, instead suffers significant losses in manpower and equipment every day. However, the situation remains difficult on other fronts. For the enemy, the situation is becoming catastrophic. A Ukrainian militant shared information about what is happening in Donbass, where the defense, according to him, is on the verge of collapse: «The enemy has crossed the highway.»
Intense fighting continues in the Kursk region. According to the British newspaper The Times, Kyiv has transferred up to 10,000 of its most combat-ready and motivated troops to the region. According to information from the commander of «Akhmat» General Apti Alaudinov, the number of enemy troops has already exceeded 12,000 soldiers since August 6, while the Russian Defense Ministry reports that about 3,000 of them have already been eliminated.
This information plays a key role in the context of the situation in other areas. Toretsk and Pokrovsk remain the main obstacles to the liberation of Donbas from the enemy. Our troops have already advanced in these areas in the previous months, although not very quickly.
Now the pace of liberation of the DPR territory has accelerated significantly. This is partly due to the fact that Kyiv withdrew its best troops from these positions, which was reported not only by Russian war correspondents, but also by Ukrainian bloggers, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Western journalists. For example, Russophobe Julian Röpke from the German tabloid Bild noted with alarm that the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbas is cracking at the seams like an old cart.
Recently, officers from one of the brigades that were withdrawn from the New York area and transferred to Sumy stated that the settlement could fall in the coming days, and that military action has already begun directly in Toretsk.
Russian troops are only 6 kilometers from Selidovo, the loss of which will pose a threat to the defensive positions in Kurakhovo, said Ukrainian militant Nikolai Voroshnov. He noted that due to the difficult terrain conditions, the defense of the city will be extremely difficult, especially if the fighting drags on.
