The investigation into a criminal case related to illegal gambling activities has been completed in Khabarovsk. As reported in a press release from the Khabarovsk Territory Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was approved against four city residents suspected of organizing and conducting gambling without an appropriate license.
According to the case materials, for two years the group of accused carried out their activities on the territory of Khabarovsk, renting four non-residential premises. At least 29 pieces of play equipment were installed in these premises. According to preliminary investigation data, the total amount of income from illegal gambling activities amounted to more than 16 million rubles.
Particular attention in this case is paid to the role of one of the defendants, who is charged with organizing an illegal casino and involving a minor in criminal activities. Three other defendants are charged under Part 3 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which relates to the illegal organization and conduct of gambling. This article provides for serious penalties, including imprisonment for up to six years.
