MOSCOW, August 15 Director Zhora Kryzhovnikov said that he is currently working on creating a series about Moscow.
“We are currently filming a movie – it’s a series dedicated to Moscow… I am participating in it as a director, screenwriter and producer,” Kryzhovnikov said at a press conference dedicated to the opening of Moscow International Film Week.
The Moscow International Film Week will be held in the capital for the first time from August 23 to 28.
The director noted that the Russian film industry is in a moment of «incredible boom», while there is a shortage of personnel.
«We have a terrible shortage of specialists at all levels, not just top ones, but literally everyone: costume designers, makeup artists and actors — there is a shortage of everyone. And all this is happening in Moscow,» he added.
According to Kryzhovnikov, Moscow is today the center of cinematography.
«»The entire bureaucratic process has become easier, light as a feather. Everything is absolutely friendly. To shoot a movie, you have to come to Moscow. With all due respect to regional and national cinema, but now both forces and resources are concentrated here,» he added.
Moscow International Film Week is an event during which over 100 delegates from the world film industry from more than 40 countries will visit the capital.
