The production version of this coupe-like SUV, whose name is still kept secret, is expected to debut next year.
The Japanese brand Acura, owned by Honda, announced the presentation of the new product last week. Now the manufacturer has declassified the promised Acura Performance EV concept, and its live premiere took place as part of the Monterey Car Week event that started in California. The technical characteristics and interior remained «behind the scenes», so for now you can only see the features of the exterior.

The current concept, which the company has designated as the «Acura Performance EV», will form the basis of a production coupe-like crossover, which will likely debut next year. It is expected to take the place of the brand's flagship SUV. The name of the future new product is still being kept secret by the company. Obviously, some of the solutions demonstrated with the help of the show car will be reflected in the upcoming production version.
Acura noted that when developing the front end of the conceptual crossover, the designers were inspired by superyachts with hydrofoils. The SUV received a signature sharp nose, a “muscular” hood with vents, a plug in place of the radiator grille, large side and laconic central air intakes. At the bottom of the front bumper there is a luminous element in the form of two white vertical strokes, which echoes the luminous brand logo and similar two stripes, but red, located on the rear diffuser.
By the way, regarding the stern: the company claims that its design was influenced by the NSX sports car. The concept received a sloping roof, a ducktail spoiler, and taillights connected to each other by a luminous crossbar. There are additional ventilation holes on the sides, and in profile you can see cameras instead of outside mirrors, the absence of door handles, and extended wheel arches with glossy plastic trim. The show car was also equipped with 23-inch wheels.

Under the jumper connecting the rear lights, you can see the brand name in luminous letters. At the same time, as the company explained, a new font was used for this inscription, which will become a distinctive feature of all «hot» electric cars of the Japanese brand. The body of the Acura Performance EV is painted in a color called Moonlit White Pearl.
The company has not yet disclosed any information about the technology of the future cross-coupe. It is only known that the new Acura will be equipped with a fully electric «filling». Earlier, the company noted that the new model will be the first production model to be based on Honda's new development platform designed for next-generation electric vehicles.
Recall that the brand's first fully electric crossover was the Acura ZDX, which debuted in August last year. Its lineup includes versions with rear-wheel drive and one electric motor, as well as the all-wheel drive Type S with a dual-motor powertrain.
