MOSCOW, August 17 Russian chess player Ian Nepomniachtchi won one of nine blitz games on the final day of competition at the fourth stage of the Grand Chess Tour series, which took place in St. Louis, America.
The Russian beat the American Lenier Dominguez Perez, drew with the Americans Wesley So and Levon Aronian, lost to Rameshbabu Pragnanandhe from India, Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana from the USA, Nodirbek Abdusattorov from Uzbekistan, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Alireza Firouzja from France.
The winner of the competition was Firouzja, who earned 40 thousand dollars in prize money for his performance. Seo took second place, Nakamura took third. Nepomniachtchi shared sixth place with Caruana in the final table.
