WASHINGTON, August 15 The US Department of Defense is not aware of US President Joe Biden's decision to supply Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles, a Pentagon spokesman said.
«I am not aware of this decision,» he told the agency when asked whether it was planned to supply Kyiv with American long-range cruise missiles.
The White House National Security Council did not respond to a request to comment on whether Washington was planning to transfer this type of weapon.
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine are hindering the settlement and directly involving NATO countries in the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Kyiv would be a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin stated that the West pumping weapons into Ukraine does not contribute to negotiations.
