SOLNECHNOGORSK (Moscow region), August 16 Humanity will begin industrial development of lunar resources after the 1940s, predicted Roscosmos CEO Yuri Borisov.
«Someday, probably after the 40s, humanity will move to industrial development of these resources,» Borisov said at the «Territory of Meanings» forum.
He specified that the Moon has rare earth metals and helium in greater quantities than the Earth.
To provide energy for mining and other equipment, a nuclear power plant for the lunar surface is being created in the Russian Federation, the CEO of Roscosmos recalled.
