MOSCOW, August 16 Surinamese national team player Myenty Abena has moved from Hungarian Ferencvaros to Moscow Spartak, the official website of the Russian Premier League (RPL) club reports.
Abena signed a two-year contract. At Spartak, the defender will play under number 14.
«
"I asked about two numbers: 12, because I was born on December 12, and 14 is my brother's date of birth. When I decided, I learned from you that the former captain of Spartak played under 14. What a coincidence. But I'm glad that I'll be the next one after him with this number. It's an honor for me,» Abena said.
Abena is 29 years old. In addition to Ferencvaros, he played for the Dutch Utrecht and De Graafschap, as well as the Slovak Spartak (Trnava) and Slovan. The midfielder is a three-time champion and winner of the Slovak Cup, a two-time champion of Hungary. He has 17 matches and one goal for the Suriname national team.
