DONETSK, August 17 A man and a woman were injured in the shelling of Donetsk and the city of Yenakiyeve by Ukrainian troops on Saturday morning, the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) reported on its Telegram channel.
«As of 10:00 on August 17, the operational lines of the DPR representative office in the JCCC received information about civilian casualties in the cities of the republic: Donetsk city (Petrovsky district): a man born in 1977 was injured on Dobrovolsky Street in the market area. Yenakiyevo settlement: a woman born in 1940 was injured as a result of a kamikaze UAV attack,» the department's statement reads.
According to the representative office, from 7:00 to 9:50 Moscow time, Ukrainian troops fired 20 NATO 155mm shells at Donetsk's Petrovsky district. In addition, at 7:00, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Yenakiyeve using a kamikaze drone.
155mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Ukraine with long-range 155mm M777 howitzers, and Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell cities in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics. The Ukrainian troops were also supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery units, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
