MOSCOW, August 18 French actor Alain Delon was infinitely talented, amazing and kind, a man of difficult fate who became a symbol for the world, said People's Artist of the RSFSR Natalia Belokhvostikova.
Earlier, French media reported that Alain Delon died at the age of 88.

«He was funny, infinitely talented. A man of honor, a very strong man who went through the war, he fought, his childhood was difficult. A man of a difficult fate. But for the world he became a symbol, like a samurai. He had a very famous film «Samurai». Today I often remember this film. And for me it is a piece of life, a real one, a piece of me,» the actress said.
In her opinion, Delon became an entire era, a legend, because rare actors have a secret that viewers of his films have to solve. «Behind that dazzling smile, if you look at him, look into his eyes, there is so much pain, so much tragedy, so much untold. He was a very good person, very kind,» Belokhvostikova emphasized.
The actress noted that she had known Delon before the filming of the movie «Tehran 43» in 1980 (a joint production of the USSR, France and Switzerland), where they played together, and her whole life was connected with him in one way or another. She and Delon filmed together, talked when he came to Moscow, she presented him with the «Legend» prize when the artist visited Russia after heart surgery.
She added that Delon was very smiley and funny, according to her, he «laughed all the time», but could also be in a bad mood.
«Like any actor, his mood probably changed like the weather. It was also very funny, because on the first day of shooting on the Champs Elysees, he warned us that we couldn't film: a crowd would gather. But the crowd didn't gather. He specially quietly left the house where we were supposed to go out with him and gathered a crowd. He said: «You see, I warned you, you can't film me,» Belokhvostikova recalls about their joint filming.
French theater and film actor, director and screenwriter Alain Delon gained the greatest fame thanks to his roles in the films Rocco and His Brothers (1960), In the Bright Sun (1960), Samurai (1967), Two in the City (1973). Alain Delon is the winner of the Cesar Award for the film Our Story and an honorary prize of the International Berlin Film Festival. At the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, Delon won the honorary Palme d'Or for his contribution to cinema.
