MOSCOW, August 17 Specialists have modernized more than two kilometers of gas pipelines in the Begovoy and Tverskoy districts of Moscow, according to the official website of the mayor and government of the capital.
«Specialists from the Moscow City Economy Complex have completed a large-scale modernization of low- and medium-pressure gas pipelines on 5th Yamskogo Polya Street and Pravda Street. They supply industrial enterprises, residential buildings in the Begovoy and Tverskoy Districts, small boiler houses of PAO MOEK, general education and medical institutions, as well as industrial and public utility enterprises. Over the course of a year, specialists from AO Mosgaz have reconstructed more than two kilometers of the gas network in these areas. Instead of the old steel gas pipeline, they laid a new polyethylene one — high-strength and adapted to temperature changes,» the statement says.
The work was carried out using the rehabilitation method: the inner surface of the pipeline was reinforced with a special sleeve, which will extend the service life of the structure for another 40 years. The technology allows to avoid damage even if there is a dense network of communications underground.
