Approximately 2,200 bodies were stolen from cemeteries in Gaza Strip, the enclave's civil defense department reported.
It said that about 8,240 people had been «forcibly abducted by the occupiers,» meaning Israel.
«The whereabouts of 2,210 bodies of the deceased, who were abducted from various cemeteries in the Gaza Strip and who went missing from areas occupied by the Israeli occupation, are also unknown,» the statement said.
It added that about 10,000 people may remain under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israeli airstrikes.
