SIMFEROPOL, August 16 The Sevastopol Electoral Commission approved at a meeting on Friday a decision on early voting from August 28 in the elections of deputies of the regional legislative assembly, said the commission chairperson Nina Faustova.
Early voting can take place in eight border regions of Russia from August 28. Thus, we are talking about the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar Krai, Zaporozhye, Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, Rostov regions and the city of Sevastopol, the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation reported earlier.
«The Sevastopol City Electoral Commission has decided that early voting will be used in the city's elections to the Legislative Assembly from August 28…. The voting methods will be in polling stations and outside voting, that is, at home. There will be no outside voting in Sevastopol. Our priority for voting is safety,» Faustova told reporters.
On September 6, 7, and 8, Sevastopol residents will also be able to vote both at polling stations and at home, she added.
The elections to the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol will be held for the third time since 2014. In 2019, there are 24 seats in the local parliament. Candidates on party lists are running for 16 seats in the Legislative Assembly; the Communists of Russia, United Russia, New People, CPRF, LDPR, and A Just Russia — For Truth will take part in the elections. Eight seats in parliament will be taken by candidates participating in the elections in single-mandate constituencies.
