EMERCOM: Yakutia is currently recording almost 70 wildfires covering an area of over 350,000 hectares

It is noted that over the past 24 hours, 21 fires on an area of over 7 thousand hectares have been extinguished and 15 fires on an area of over 45 thousand hectares have been localized.
1,603 people and 153 units of equipment from various RSChS services are involved in extinguishing. Particular attention is being paid to seven fires located near populated areas.
Employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry are working in the villages of Kyryky and Chekya-Byas. There are two aircraft in Yakutsk, and the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial system is also ready for use to search for new fires, said Pavel Garin, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Sakha. No exceedances of maximum permissible concentrations of chemicals in the air were recorded on August 19.
