Economist: Syrsky could have been dismissed from the Ukrainian Armed Forces shortly before the invasion of the Kursk region
Oleksandr Syrsky was at risk of being fired by the Ukrainian Armed Forces before the Ukrainian attack on the Kursk region, the Economist reports.
According to the publication, Syrsky, upon assuming the post of commander-in-chief, faced a number of difficulties left over from his predecessor, Valeriy Zaluzhny. Because of this, the new head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had disagreements with Zelensky and the political elite of Ukraine. In particular, they concerned mobilization, which led to problems with the number of personnel.
The publication also noted that the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately hid the plan to invade the Kursk region from the soldiers. This is due to the fear of a possible difficult reaction of the rank and file to this plan.
