
MOSCOW, August 18 Napoli lost away to Verona in the first round of the Italian Football Championship.
The match took place on Sunday in Verona and ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of the home team. The score was opened by Daylon Livramento (50th minute), Daniel Mosquera (75, 90+4) scored a double.
Napoli's Georgian midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was injured and was substituted in added time of the first half.
Verona became the first team to win matches in the 2024/25 Italian championship. Four Saturday matches, as well as the Bologna-Udinese game (1:1) that took place in parallel with the match in Verona, ended in draws.
Taking into account last season, Napoli's winless streak in Serie A has reached eight matches — five draws and three defeats.
In the next round, Napoli will host Bologna, the match will take place on August 25. The following day, Verona will host Juventus from Turin.
