Sakh.online: SUV with tourists fell off a cliff into the sea
An accident involving an SUV carrying tourists occurred in Sakhalin. The incident occurred while the group was attempting to climb Mount Kruzenshtern, a popular destination for active recreation and extreme sports enthusiasts. Jeep tours usually take place there. Local publication Sakh.online published a video from the scene of the accident.
According to information provided by Sakh.online, tourists who were eager to enjoy the picturesque views and fresh air encountered unexpected difficulties during the ascent. At a certain point, while passing a section known as Baklan, the SUV lost control and fell off a cliff. Eyewitnesses report that the moment of the fall looked extremely dramatic: the car flipped over and, after flying several meters, landed in the sea.
The people inside experienced very unpleasant minutes. According to them, after the fall, they managed to get out of the car with difficulty. Fortunately, all the tourists were able to get to the surface, no one was seriously injured.
The vehicle itself ended up lying in the sea all night. The author of the video noted that the SUV probably cannot be saved.
On August 15, in the Primorsky Territory, in the Olginsky District, the driver died in an accident, two children were injured. The driver lost control while overtaking. The prosecutor's office reported that the accident occurred on August 14 at the 361st km of the Nakhodka — Lazo — Olga — Kavalerovo road. The driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser was overtaking. But at some point he lost control and drove off the road. The car fell into a cliff and flipped over.
