
MOSCOW, August 19 Russian forward Vasily Podkolzin has been transferred to the Edmonton Oilers as a result of a trade, the National Hockey League (NHL) club's website reports.
The Russian's previous club, the Vancouver Canucks, received a fourth-round pick in the 2025 draft.
Podkolzin is 23 years old and was selected by Vancouver with the 10th overall pick in the 2019 draft. He played 19 games and scored 2 points in the past NHL regular season, and spent most of the season with the farm club. In just three seasons, Podkolzin has 137 games and 35 points (18 goals and 17 assists) in the regular NHL championships. In Russia, Podkolzin represented St. Petersburg SKA. As part of the youth team, the forward won silver and bronze medals in the World Youth Championships.
