MOSCOW, August 19An ATM for remote customer service was developed in Russia; it is equipped with a passport scanner with artificial intelligence that verifies the authenticity of documents, said Vladimir Arlazarov, CEO of Smart Engines and Doctor of Technical Sciences.
«BFS (Banking and Financial Systems — ed.) has implemented the Smart Engines artificial intelligence module for document authentication in its ATM. In this product, artificial intelligence plays a leading role, solving a problem that even a person cannot always cope with. AI, without any difficulties, continuously recognizes documents, automates data entry from them and simultaneously provides high-quality authentication for several dozen parameters. The system works with inhuman calm and accuracy, without getting tired, without being distracted and without allowing itself to be misled,» Arlazarov said. 
The ATM model, which has a built-in passport scanner and AI technology, is called a «digital office» — with its help you can access most banking products and services remotely. For example, go through identification, open an account, apply for and receive a bank card without visiting a branch or meeting in person with a bank representative.
Artificial intelligence algorithms detect more than 60 signs of Russian passport falsification in three ranges — optical, ultraviolet, infrared. The system checks the security elements of the document form — fluorescent fibers and ink, printing paper, it also detects mechanical interventions in the document itself, including re-gluing photos and other manipulations with data.
