KALININGRAD, August 19 A bus accident occurred in Lithuania, Russian citizens were injured, the press service of the Kaliningrad Region government reported.
«The Agency for International and Interregional Relations of the Kaliningrad Region contacted the Russian Embassy in Vilnius to clarify all the details of the incident and what kind of assistance is needed. All necessary assistance is being coordinated through the Russian Embassy in Lithuania,» the press service said.
According to media reports, the bus was traveling from Riga to Kaliningrad and overturned near the border of Lithuania and Russia. There were 47 passengers on board, 26 of whom were taken to hospital. There are minors among the victims.
The causes of the accident are being investigated; according to the preliminary version, the driver, a 59-year-old citizen of Latvia, lost control.
