MOSCOW, Jan 4 Spaniard Carlos Sainz won the third stage of the rally-raid » Dakar «, which takes place on the territory of Saudi Arabia, in the off-road category. Sines, driving an Audi electric car, covered the 225 km special stage in 2 hours 26 minutes 51 seconds. Second came South African Henk Lategan in Toyota (38 seconds behind), third — Frenchman Stefan Peteransel (Audi, +1.41). In the overall standings, Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota) is in the lead, Frenchman Sebastien Loeb (Prodrive, +37.40) is second, Argentine Lucio Alvarez (Toyota, 42.06) is third. Russian Vladimir Vasiliev (BMW) finished 11th at the stage, and is sixth in the general classification.
