MOSCOW, 5 Jan. Russian Alexander Maximov lost the victory in the fourth stage of the rally- of the Dakar raid, which takes place in Saudi Arabia, in the ATV classification. Maksimov (Yamaha) was the first to overcome the special stage 465 kilometers long, but by its time 5 hours 10 minutes 28 seconds after the finish, a 4 minute penalty was added. The Russian moved to third place — the first was Argentine Manuel Andujar (Yamaha), the second — the Frenchman Alexander Giroud (Yamaha).
