Bronze medalist of the 2021 World Championship Russian woman Alexandra Trusova performed a free program variation with five quadruple jumps at the official training session at the European Figure Skating Championships on Friday. The European Championships are held in Tallinn on January 12-15. Russian Kamila Valieva with a world record (90.45 points) is in the lead after the short program. Trusova and the world champion from Russia Anna Shcherbakova are in third and fourth places, respectively, behind the Belgian Luna Hendrix. In the box office, Trusova cleanly performed three quadruple jumps out of five planned — a flip and two lutz (in combinations with triple sheepskin coat and salchow). Valieva performed one clean quadruple jump to the music — Salchow, as well as an Axel in three and a half turns. Shcherbakova did not do quadruple jumps in the run of the free program; during the main part of the training, the attempts at the quadruple flip were, for the most part, unsuccessful. The single skaters will perform the free program at the European Championships on Saturday.
