“All planes with Russian peacekeepers arrived from Kazakhstan in Ivanovo at the Severny airfield. After landing the last board, a solemn meeting of the military personnel took place, ”the Ministry of Defense said.

The day before, servicemen from Armenia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan left Kazakhstan. Earlier, Shoigu said that the return of all CSTO peacekeepers who arrived in Kazakhstan at the request of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev would end on January 19.

About 2,600 CSTO peacekeepers arrived in Kazakhstan after President Tokayev appealed with a corresponding request to the secretariat of the organization. The military from Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan were engaged in the protection of strategic facilities, including airports, and also organized the evacuation of their fellow citizens who wished to return to their homeland.
