MOSCOW, 20 Jan. Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev reached the third round of the Australian Open, which takes place in Melbourne.
Medvedev, seeded under the second number, defeated Australian Nick Kyrgios in the second round with a score of 7:6 (7:1 ), 6:4, 4:6, 6:2. The match lasted two hours and 58 minutes.
Medvedev beat Kiryos for the first time in his career, who currently occupies 115th place in the rating of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). The account of personal meetings became 2-1 in favor of the Australian.
