On the night of January 27, National Guardsman Artem Ryabchuk opened fire at the «Yuzhmash» plant. Four soldiers and a civilian woman were killed.
The senior soldier, 21-year-old Leonid Chernik, was from Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson region. 21-year-old junior sergeant Alexander Dragan is from Berezino, Odessa region. Senior lieutenant Alexander Buganov and senior soldier Artem Levkovsky also died. Ryabchuk also shot Vera Lebedinets, the checkpoint inspector.
