BEIJING, February 2, by Sergey Yaremenko. The anti-doping program in Russia must comply with all rules, said the President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Vitold Banka. On December 17, 2020, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) published a decision on the dispute between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA). According to the CAS decision, Russian athletes cannot compete in major international competitions under the Russian flag until December 16, 2022. The use of the national anthem, national emblems or symbols is also prohibited. «It has been more than a year since the CAS decision regarding the form of Russian athletes, their flag and other things. Now we are focused on monitoring the activities of RUSADA. We must be sure that the anti-doping program in Russia is strong and in line with all rules,” Banka said. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced in February that Russian athletes would compete at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and Beijing under the acronym ROC (Russian Olympic Committee). The use of the full name of the organization on the form or inventory is prohibited. The Beijing Olympic Games will be held from 4 to 20 February.
