Archival photoMOSCOW, Feb. 3The drone that violated the border of Belarus is an experimental version of the Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Spectator, a military-diplomatic source told RIA Novosti on Thursday. Earlier, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry protested to the Ukrainian ambassador in connection with the launch of a drone from the Ukrainian side to the Belarusian territory for reconnaissance. According to the ministry, on January 24, 2022, a Ukrainian drone illegally crossed the state border of Belarus and was forced to land by specialists of the Armed Forces.The Ministry of Defense of Belarus called the military attache of Ukraine «The UAV that violated the Belarusian airspace belongs to the pre-production batch of Spectator drones. This is one of the first variants of the Spectator developed by the Ukrainian company Politeko Aero. It really has characteristic external differences from the serial Spectator-M1 currently being produced Ukrainian enterprise «Meridian», — said the source of the agency. There have already been statements that this is a fake, since the drone does not look like a serial model,” Fedutinov explained. The Spectator belongs to the class of reconnaissance UAVs.
