Russia and China will jointly resist the politicization of sports, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said following talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday. #34;Both sides agreed to promote the Olympic spirit, jointly oppose the politicization of sports, and support the successful holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics,» the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing from 4 to 20 February.
