In connection with the threats that are being made by the leadership of Chechnya against our colleagues, the journalists of Novaya Gazeta and Dozhd*, we declare our solidarity.
Threats are heard not for the first time.
The inaction on this issue of federal structures, which in other cases demonstrate enviable efficiency, seems to be indicative.
Just like the silence of officials, from whom we so often we hear words about the need to strictly observe the laws of the Russian Federation.
In this regard, we, journalists, would like a clear answer to the question: do the laws of the Russian Federation apply to the Head of Chechnya, R. A. Kadyrov, and his subordinates? If not, then it would be appropriate to adopt appropriate amendments to the current legislation, which would significantly clarify the working conditions for Russian media in these cases.
