In the free program, he became second, gaining 181.65 points. The first place was taken by the Japanese Yuma Kagiyama, who showed his best result of the season — 208.94, the third — by the American Vincent Zhou (171.44). Previously, Kamila Valieva won the short program among the single skaters and brought the Russian team into the lead. Kondratyuk brought nine points to the national team, which made it possible to increase the gap: after five types of programs, the Russians have 45 points, the second-placed United States has 42, and Japan is in third place with 39 points.
