Aspirin — not a medicine for children.
Dr. Evgeny Komarovsky spoke about a dangerous antipyretic, which in no case should be given to children at a temperature, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
The Honored Pediatrician of Ukraine wrote about this on his Instagram page.
According to the doctor, we are talking about aspirin, which our mothers and grandmothers could also use.< /p>
«Aspirin — This medicine is not for children! Never use aspirin to reduce fever in a child!» — warned Komarovsky.
Ekaterina Yakovleva, a pediatrician, agreed with Evgeny Olegovich in the comments, telling what other means are not recommended to reduce children's temperature.
«Yes, he (aspirin. & #8212; Ed.) causes severe side effects, Reye's syndrome (acute liver failure. — Ed.). Analgin, Nimesulide (nise), rubbing with diluted vodka and vinegar should also not be used. Only paracetamol and ibuprofen», — wrote the pediatrician.
How to understand that you need to see a doctor with ARVI
Dr. Komarovsky previously named two criteria under which you should definitely seek the advice of specialists if you have an acute respiratory viral infection:
- lack of improvement on the fourth day of SARS,
- body temperature is above normal on the seventh day of illness.
Note that the pediatrician has repeatedly stated that in no case it is impossible to prescribe antibacterial drugs (antibiotics) for ARVI.
