Russian figure skaters win the team tournament at the Beijing Olympics

Beijing, February 7 The Russian team won the team figure skating competition at the Beijing Olympics. The champions were Mark Kondratyuk (men's single skating), Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov (pair skating), Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov (ice dancing), Kamila Valieva (women's single skating). In the final form of Valieva's program for her free skate she received 178.92 points and took first place. The second was the Japanese Kaori Sakamoto (148.66), the third — the Canadian Madeleine Skizas (132.04). According to the results of the team tournament, the Russians scored 74 points. Silver medals were won by Americans Nathan Chen, Vincent Zhou (singles), Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donoghue, Madison Chalk/Evan Bates (ice dancing), Alexa Knierim/Brandon Fraser (pairs), Karen Chen (singles) — 65 points.
