The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow has arrested Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina for 15 days because of an Instagram photo posted in 2015. This was reported to Mediazona by Veronika Polyakova, a lawyer for Apology.
Alyokhina was detained yesterday after a visit by an inspector of the Federal Penitentiary Service and taken to the police department in the Tverskoy district. There, a protocol was drawn up against her under the article on the public demonstration of Nazi symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), follows from the card of the administrative case.
The activist told Mediazona that the reason for the protocol was a photograph she posted on Instagram in May 2015. The picture shows three girls in hijabs, one of them has the words “VODKA DUDKA ISLAM” written on their clothes. At the bottom of the photo is visible, presumably, Arabic script, to the right and left of it, as the police decided, two swastikas.

In December, Alyokhina and her colleague, municipal deputy Lyusya Shtein, were arrested for 15 and 14 days, respectively, under protocols under the same article. Stein was sued for a portrait of her with a photoshopped SS cap that she posted in 2018. The report on Alyokhina was then drawn up because of the photo of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko with swastikas, she published the image in 2015.
In 2021, Alyokhina was assigned a year of restriction of freedom on the «sanitary case» because of the post about the rally on January 23. The court found her guilty of incitement to violate sanitary and epidemiological rules. A member of Pussy Riot was forbidden to leave her house at night, leave Moscow and participate in rallies, she was also ordered to report to the FSIN inspection twice a month.
