All development projects must be approved by the French side.

France will provide Ukraine with 1.2 billion euros of macro-financial assistance. These funds can be spent on specific development projects, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Channel 24.

This was stated by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Rostislav Shurma. He explained that all development projects must be coordinated with the French side.

As Rostyslav Shurma noted, the French Ministry of Economy and Finance will provide the Ukrainian government with:

  • 200 million euros of credit,

Under these guarantees, our state will be able to obtain loans from French banks on favorable terms. As Shurma noted, these funds can be directed to specific development projects.

The directions for which these funds can be used will be additionally agreed with the French side and will provide for the involvement of French suppliers and contractors,
– he said.

What other documents were signed by Ukraine and France

During the meeting between Vladimir Zelensky and Emmanuel Macron, the parties agreed to expand their cooperation. As a result, a number of agreements were signed, in particular regarding:

  • financing and supply of Alstom electric locomotives to Ukraine in the amount of 900 million euros,
  • supply of fire and rescue equipment for the State Emergency Service ,

The money will be used to overcome the negative consequences of Russian aggression. And on February 1, the European Commission officially agreed on this step.

The day before, Macron met in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The negotiations lasted 6 hours. The parties discussed the situation around Ukraine and the «security guarantees» demanded by Russia.
