They are accused of neglecting cleaning duties. The damage to the budget is estimated at about 1 million rubles, the media write. A total of 19 criminal cases were initiated.
Among the detainees were five general directors and founders of contracting and subcontracting organizations and one head of the housing and communal services of the Admiralteisky district.
On February 8, the police, the prosecutor's office, the tax inspectorate and the control department of the administration of St. Petersburg conducted searches of 55 addresses.
The inspection began after numerous complaints from local residents about the organization of cleaning city streets from snow and ice.
