
MOSCOW, 11 Feb. The Kremlin has unlimited support for Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, who was suspected of doping at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, said presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"We do not comment and do not want to comment on the situation, we We are waiting for the completion of the proceedings. <…> We support our Kamila Valieva. And we urge everyone to support it. And we say to Camila: <…> do not hide your face, you are a Russian woman, walk proudly everywhere and, most importantly, perform and win everyone", said the Kremlin representative.
Today, the athlete went to training twice. She left the arena, covering herself with a hood and refusing to communicate with the press. The Russian authorities are sure that some kind of misunderstanding has occurred, and they offer to wait for the results of the proceedings. «Our sports officials, you heard a statement today, have certain questions about the timing of testing samples,» Peskov added.
